La Digue is only 15 minutes by fast ferry from Praslin and offers visitors a true taste of island life. The majority of visitors to La Digue come to delight in one of its many world-class beaches. Anse Source d’Argent (ASDA for short), said to be one of the world’s most photographed beaches, is the island’s main attraction with Grand Anse and Anse Coco not far behind. But La Digue is more than just world-famous beaches. Take a boat trip to Ile Cocos Marine National Park or scuba dive the reefs around the island. Or maybe go snorkelling at Anse Sévère, followed by a hike to the top of Nid d’Aigle, with its breathtaking sunset views out towards Praslin Island and the Indian Ocean beyond. Don’t forget to visit L’Union Estate, with its resident colony of Aldabra giant tortoises, as well as the Veuve Natural Reserve for a glimpse of the rare Black Paradise Flycatcher. Getting around La Digue is easy. The most popular option is to hire a bicycle from one of the many rental locations around the island. Alternatively, hop on an ‘ox cart’ taxi for a leisurely ride around the island.
