Cat Rose III from Praslin to La Digue

Boarding Process

Design and Specifications
Launched in 2019 by Commercial Marine Australia, the 27-metre Cat Rose III catamaran was designed to look similar to the rest of the Cat Rose fleet but with a more modern interior. Marine-grade aluminium was used for the main construction, but full-length stainless-steel liners were added to the stern tubes and rudderstocks to prevent any future corrosion.
Powered by two Yanmar 6AYM-WGT engines, extra attention was paid to reducing engine noise by installing a Wavebar Quadzero sound control system. Power is transferred via ZF gearboxes to the twin propellers, which allows the vessel to reach a maximum speed of 27.5 knots, making light work of the 15-minute crossing from Praslin to La Digue islands.
It comfortably carries up to 199 passengers and 6 crew, split between the main air-conditioned cabin and the open upper deck. Cat Rose III carries all necessary safety equipment, including Carly life rafts, life jackets, life rings and, of course, state-of-the-art navigation and communication systems.
